4th Of July Graduation Party

This Summer we made a trip back to Ohio for a couple weeks. It was so much fun!
While we were home, my youngest brother Jack had his high school graduation party.
He wanted cupcake kabobs to share with the guests so I made these vanilla cupcakes with strawberry spacers. They were great and people loved them!

As a surprise, I made Jack a cake that looked like a American flag when you cut into it.
(You can see the whole cake in the background to the left on the table.)
It was red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting... and 5 layers!!!
People loved it and it was so yummy too!
(flag cake instructions here)

Jack is going to the University of Cincinnati and will be pursuing a degree in law enforcement. I thought the flag would be great for both 4th of July and his future profession!

Congrats Jack!

Wedding cupcakes for Michelle and Rich

My best friend Jennys' sister Michelle got married a couple weeks ago and she wanted a small cutting cake and some cupcakes for her reception.
Her decorations were all bright colors and flowers in vases with jelly beans... it was so pretty!
And the cupcakes matched perfectly!

Congratulations to Michelle and Rich!

Lizzi's Wedding Cupcakes!

This past weekend I catered a wedding with 250 blue and green flower cupcakes and they turned out great! The flowers were made of (my favorite) marshmallow fondant, and the cupcakes were all chocolate and vanilla mix. Very classy!
The bride and her mom painted this cute cupcake stand to match their decor and it fit so well!
The cake topper was vanilla cake filled with oreo filling. (YUM!)
Congrats to the beautiful Bride and Groom on their special day!

Happy Birthday Bill!

Every year for my husbands birthday he requests a one of a kind cake which includes the following:

A layer of my favorite fudge brownie recipe

A layer of his moms special chocolate peanut butter frosting

And a layer of vanilla cake

Phew! If there was a cake heaven, they would serve this!

And here was the final product!
It served about 10-12 probably and since we were the only ones here for this birthday this year, (since it is two days after Christmas), it took us about a week and 1/2 to eat it!

Don't judge the candle... it was a Sunday and the only candles we had were emergency ones!

Happy Birthday B! Love you!

Jungle Safari Cake

A co-worker of mine, Karen, had a jungle theme baby shower Saturday which inspired this cake!
It was my first topsy turvey cake and so fun to do! The top layer was lemon and the bottom layer was chocolate with wonderful marshmallow fondant! (yum!)
Thank you so much to my sister-in-law Katie who helped me design and put together this cake.
And Congratulations to Karen and Steven on their baby boy Xander!
